About the Interactive Maths Series Software

The Interactive Maths Series (Second Edition) software helps improve and speed up the learning of mathematics for students at all levels of mathematical ability.  The software's eLearning approach achieves this by:

  • providing question by question feedback in response to student answers to alert students to mistakes straight away
  • providing carefully prepared step-by-step solutions to every question from the interactive exercises in the author's proven writing style, no matter how easy or difficult the question

  • constantly tracking student performance through the Analysis of Past Performance window with performance highlighted in three bands that include outstanding, satisfactory and revision required.  Performance against the New Zealand curriculum learning outcomes can be measured with the NZ Outcomes indicators showing the level of difficulty of exercise questions and the syllabus strands and sub-strands that the exercises relate to.  For example, the screen below shows that some Fractions exercises relate to level 4 of the curriculum, the Number and Algebra strand and its Number Strategies sub-strand (4.N&A.NS).  Some other exercises relate to level 5 of the curriculum, the Number and Algebra strand and its Number Strategies and Knowledge sub-strand (5.N&A.NS&K).

  • providing extensive support reading material in the form of mathematical theory and examples that are closely integrated with the relevant interactive exercise
  • indexing and hyperlinking key mathematical terms to ensure explanations are not far away and concepts are reinforced across different chapters
  • adopting a simple software interface that uses a fewest clicks approach to ensure students focus on learning and writing mathematics rather than using a computer

The Interactive Maths Series software gives students the chance to learn mathematical concepts better and faster than is possible from their classroom textbook.

More about the Series

  • On average, each interactive exercise draws upon 3000+ randomised questions to provide different students with fresh challenges.  However, a student is encouraged to follow the software's default recommended number of questions for each exercise.
  • Students of different ability are able to progress at their own pace.
  • When used in schools, fresh worksheets, worksheet solutions and example sheets can be generated to save or print within seconds.  The second edition allows teachers to organise their own selection of questions across exercises and chapters to produce worksheets, tests, solutions and interactive revision exercises quickly using the new Create Revision Material feature.
